Do you have people in your life who are family even though you have no blood relation? We, the kids and volunteers of Rise n’ Shine, are such a family. We are a local non-profit that works with kids and teens affected by HIV/AIDS. Together each summer we have grieved over the loss of our loved ones, shared our deepest secrets, snuck out of our cabins at night and broken all of the well-meaning rules we could. Camp is a place where kids can be kids, forget about the sickness for a little while and know that we are surrounded by people who don't judge us.
