Redmond has a couple claims to fame. It’s the “Bicycle Capital of the Northwest.” It’s also the home of Microsoft headquarters. Put those together and you might see a lot of really smart people pedaling around town which isn’t a problem with all the bicycle-friendly streets and trails throughout the city.
Redmond (pop. 64,291) is a relaxed suburb city next to its more lively, larger neighbors to the west, Bellevue and Seattle. You’ll find everything from quiet, tree-lined neighborhoods, within walking (or biking) distance to parks, trails and schools to newly-constructed modern lofts in the heart of the shopping district.
Known for its expansive green space, parks and trails, Redmond also has bragging rights when it comes to great schools, shopping, a reputation for safety, and a variety of family-friendly events throughout the year.
