The bankruptcy practice encompasses both consumer and business bankruptcies in chapters 7, 11 and 13. The firm has handled a variety of individual and complex corporate bankruptcy matters. The firm primarily represents debtors but will represent creditors and related parties in bankruptcy litigation. As part of his bankruptcy practice, David must deal with issues in the areas of collection, real estate, civil, corporate, real estate and tax law. Pre-bankruptcy workouts and debt negotiation are also a part of this practice. Alternatives to bankruptcy are explored as sometimes a client needs advice and possibly a debt just needs to be settled.
The estate practice encompasses the advice and drafting of trusts, wills, and powers of attorney for individuals, couples, and same sex couples. As part of this practice the firm also handles probates and trust administration as well as dealing with elder law issues and trust/probate litigation. The firm has represented executors, trustees, heirs and trust beneficiaries. As a little background, David graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in finance and accounting and then went on to graduate from U.C. Davis law school.
