This instant charmer of a ‘medical book’ explains the myriad benefits of wine, while being splashed by accompanying original lithographs of famed artist, Raoul Dufy. However, his illustrations did not depict people drinking wine, rather images of the effects of wine – civilized health and happiness. Born in Le Havre, Dufy began his studies there, taking night classes at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts. In 1900, he moved to Paris and enrolled at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts. He became one of the most important Paris period artists next to Matisse, Braque, and Gauguin. Published by Etienne Nicolas, Printed by Draeger Freres.
