Vintage: 2019

Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir

Appellation: Willamette Valley

Vineyard: Temperance Hill

Tasting notes:

Funky, but classic old Temperance Hill Vineyard (picture an old Mercedes Benz with Ripple blaring out of the windows roaring down a dirt road through ancient vines) in Oregon’s Willamette Valley gives us extremely low yields, and delivers bright, vibrant, yet earthy, age worthy pinot noir (think cool site Santenay). With a third whole cluster fermentation giving forest floor, wild mushrooms and a cabinet full of spices and the fruit delivering raspberry, cranberry and wild strawberry flavors, this pinot noir is transcendent. Not that here and now is all that bad...

Food Pairing: Roasted salmon with chanterelle butter or wild mushroom pot pie.

FOUNDERS’ NOTES:
In 2009 we were able to source some lovely pinot noir from Temperance Hill Vineyard in the Willamette Valley to make L'Autre. Mostly because we love pinot noir, especially from Burgundy, and this plays like that, producing elegant, nuanced, age worthy, earthy, haunting wines that make us happy. Severely limited each vintage. We called it L'Autre and outfitted it with a red label because it is truly an outlier from another state and another state of mind.
