This painting captures the fiery flavor of Merken which is a native spice from Chile. It originates from the Mapuches ( the original inhabitants of South America ) of the Arauncania Region of Chile, which consists of a mixture of dried and toasted aji cacho de cabra, coriander, cumin and salt.
